From technology to politics to video games; these are the random thoughts of a geek with too much time on his hands

Add a little bit of magic to your desktop with the Abracadabra Suite created by long-time skinner, and community member Treetog, for Stardock Design!

Updated from the classic Pixtudio suite, this new edition takes full advantage of WindowBlinds 5 to give your desktop a magical look and feel.

This colossal suite comes packed with everything you need to completely overhaul your Windows desktop with a vibrant visual style, matching icons, cursors, logon screen, wallpaper and application-specific skins.  Abracadabra is one of those "mega" packs that throws in everything but the kitchen sink.  Of course it comes with:

  • WindowBlinds Visual Style
  • Icon Package
  • CursorXP Package
  • WinAmp Skin
  • Wallpaper

But on top of that, there is a second bonus features package that has matching skins for the following applications:

  • ICQ
  • ObjectDock
  • Rainlender
  • SysMetrix

You can pick up Abracadabra for $9.95, or $8.95 if you're a current Object Desktop subscriber.  For those who have the existing Pixtudio edition, a seperate Master skin of the new WindowBlinds skin will be made available soon.

I would have assumed that if you already paid for it,any updates would be free.  Would only seem fair.

I am ok with buying the updated WB as a master skin  I bought this Suite ages ago when it was first released, and it is still eye candy today

The original one was sold via Pixtudio. We have no way to know who bought the original.

Odds are, it'll be released in components as a Master Skin at some point so if you already have the original and just want the updated WB, just wait for the master skin.

Don't you think it would have been nicer to make a Windows media Player skin too. Back in the days, winamp was at the top, now WMP 11 takes back the throne. jetAudio plus is way better than Winamp. Most people don't use winamp anymore.

By the way, what happen to Alexandrie, also known as Johanne Chaine, and the Queen of skinning?

She's been very quiet, too quiet.

I agree, I bought this three years ago! There is no way I will buy it again. Say treetog can I intrest you in buying a 3 year old skin??

Why should you buy it again?

I've been using Winamp for 8 years and have no plans to switch to something else.

This skin looks dated. Its good, but it certainly has that "old school" feel about it. I don't think it qualifies as a premium suite. I wouldn't pay money for it because it just doesn't match up to the higher quality skins available, even the one's by treetog. Just look at the pick you have from the GUI Champs last year. And the Master Skins are much better quality as well.

I see why they did not show the new screenshots

Citizen Alan Lindsay knows what he was talking about 100%.

My mistake Frogboy, didnt realize it wasnt originally a Stardock product.
I dont understand how anyone could NOT see this as a premium skin. And whats wrong with "old school"?

Great skin. However, I also have the old version including the original email from pixtudio and registration no.
Question - Do we get a free update or do we pay again?

The new one is still beautiful. One who never had the older one would feel in heaven.
This was the most beautiful skin in its time. You would expect an update with the most popular features of WB5, there's not much, and what have done could have been done better. You would expect a lot of transparency, glowing icons, better animations, and toolbars that looks they were made only and only for Abracadabra. A globe start menu with Abracadabra name on it would have been sweet. It's still beautiful though.

The screenshot is a mistake and will be updated quite soon.

The biggest and most significant change is the update to the WB skin, which was updated to WB5.

Abracadabra was not available through Stardock before.  And, Pixtudio is not selling the updated suite. Therefore, we are offering it as a premium skin.

In the future, the skin will be available as a Master skin so that those who have already purchased the old version can update to the new skin.

One would expect a WB5 skin such as this one to have its own Toolbar Icon. It's the same as the one in Challenger. There are no transparancy. And the animation would have been better if Icons from the IP were used instead.

One who just have Abracadabra for the very first time would be please though.
