From technology to politics to video games; these are the random thoughts of a geek with too much time on his hands
Spore, Starcraft and... Sins!
Published on April 25, 2008 By Zoomba In Sins News

GamerNode took at look at the PC game release calendar for this year and realized something; 2008 is a great year to be a PC strategy gamer!  While the article talks about genre giants like Starcraft 2, Empire: Total War and the highly anticipated Spore, do you know the game they led the feature with?

If you said "Sins of a Solar Empire", you'd be right!

Highlighting Sins' scale, integration of 4X elements with real-time gameplay and an engine that performs well and looks great on a wide variety of systems, the game tops their list of PC strategy games to get your hands on as soon as possible.

Check out the full feature here for all the great strategy games coming out in 2008.

And people say that PC gaming is dead....

Awesome feature.
And it's definately right. I was thinking the other day, what am I most looking forward to this year and pretty much all of them were strategy games, even though I'm primeraly a shooter guy.
Spore, SC2, Empire TW and don't forget Twilight of the Arnor

Plenty of RTS series have become very popular over the years on the PC; Age of Empires, Warcraft, Civilization, Galactic Civilizations, just to name a few

I'm sorry, but "Demetri Kouvalis" has some work to do.

Jagged Alliance 3 - F3 Games is bringing back the popular turn-based RTS with a modified Silent Storm engine.

And this one just boggles the mind. Does he not understand what the RT in RTS stands for? Does the same thing with Disciples III.

Some good (hopefully) games listed there. Just that people who refer to all strategy games as RTS's drive me crazy.

Where is RA3 and DoW2?

Besides, most of the RTS on the list are the RTS that i never heard before.

Dawn of War 2 is scheduled for Q1 2009. Red Alert 3 is scheduled for Q4 but it hasn't really drawn the same amount of attention yet. Wait till the beta opens and then there should be some coverage.

Good game listing, but where's RA3?
