Stardock is always revising its product pages, trying to provide more and more information in an easy to access and understand manner. In the last two years you've seen us go through many revisions to our product pages. We've evolved from that very 1997 shareware site look to where we are today. Our latest revision can be seen on the Object Desktop website . So last week, with the launch of Object Desktop 2008, we wanted to see what you thought of it. Turns out most ...

Two MyColors NBA media bits to share with you this morning... To start with, we have MVN.com's Kurt Nordquist . After celebrating the advancement of the Houston Rockets to the NBA playoffs after a victory against the Sonics earlier this week, he stumbled upon something pretty cool; the Houston Rockets MyColors Theme. He was so impressed with the ease of use and loved having his favorite team adorn his desktop, he's made his desktop screenshot the featured image at the top of the site....

It may be hard to believe, but Winstep Software Technologies, the company behind Winstep, the integrated suite of Windows shell enhancement/replacement tools, turns 10 years old today. April 10th, 1998. Today we'd like to extend our congratulations to Jorge and crew on making something that really has stood the test of time. It's not often that we talk about a specific MyColors Theme here on WinCustomize, but today it's a little bit different. Cosmos is one of the new Inspired Themes from Stardock Design's PixelPirate, one of the best known and most talented skinners in the community. It's a great theme with a space/futuristic look, perfect for anyone looking for something sci-fi for their desktop. While it's a great theme, what makes it worth mentioning here is what PixelPirate did with all the sk...
Every month, I poll the moderation team here at WinCustomize for what their favorite skins of the month are. Vote in the poll, leave your comments below. Results next week.
Last week I asked what part of your UI you change the most often. Was it wallpapers, skins, icons or app-specific stuff like ObjectDock or RightClick? Personally, I figured wallpapers would win out by a wide margin, with skins coming in a distant second. Turns out I was wrong... Skins won out, with wallpapers following very closely behind. Icons and application skins shaved out only a small percentage in terms of frequent changes. With folks changing skins so ...
I don't know about you, but I had a fantastic weekend. Here in frosty Michigan the weather was warm, sunny and generally great. It's almost a shame to be back in the office while it's still so nice outside (high near 70f here today!). But while I'm here, looking longingly out the window, I figured I should share with you some of my favorite uploads from the weekend now gone...
Sometimes I like to go back through the archives of a gallery to see what people were uploading to the site "back in the day" and I'm discovering that, in some cases, that some things were better back in "the good old days". Wallpapers being chief among them. Well, more specifically, the wallpaper gallery back when Nuvem was still on the site. It was Koop who turned me on to Nuvem's wallpapers back when I first joined Stardock two years ago. His work is of such stunning qual...

It's been a while since I featured any individual skinners here on the front page, and I thought it might be time to trot out another one. Today, I'd like to direct you to Nimbin, Apprentice and member of WinCustomize since January 2006. In his over two years with the community, he's taken on a role as one of the more prolific RightClick skinners on the site with nearly 50 RightClick skins submitted since late 2007. He also has contributed a number of BootSkins, Wallpapers and a p...
