Today's the day Impulse launches to the public with much fanfare and celebration.  In anticipation of the release, Brad Wardell walked through what will be available in Impulse on release, and a few sneak peeks at what will be added in the comming weeks and months. It's required reading before you get the final version later today.  It will answer a lot of questions and hopefully clear up a lot of confusion of what Impulse is, what it isn't, and what it can and can not do.  ...

The fine folks over at the gaming site Rock, Paper, Shotgun are giving away five copies of Sins of a Solar Empire, the surprise strategy game hit of 2008.  The best part is that entering could not be easier!  Here's what you have to do: Here’s the question: What is the best line of dialogue ever to beuttered in a science fiction capacity? This means it must be a linefrom a science fiction movie, TV-show, or videogame. Since I'm willing to venture a guess that a lot of you are...

GamerNode took at look at the PC game release calendar for this year and realized something; 2008 is a great year to be a PC strategy gamer!  While the article talks about genre giants like Starcraft 2, Empire: Total War and the highly anticipated Spore, do you know the game they led the feature with?  If you said "Sins of a Solar Empire", you'd be right! Highlighting Sins' scale, integration of 4X elements with real-time gameplay and an engine that performs well and looks great...

GFW Radio is a weekly free-for-all with the editors for Games for Windows Magazine.  Every week they talk about what they've been playing recently, what's going on in the games industry, or in the case of this week's podcast the super-flu that has been kicking both Jeff Green and Brad's butts the last week or two.  Together, the two of them spend the podcast working on creating the virus that will wipe out all of human civilization. Beyond crafting the bug that will kill us all, th...

Since early on in the public beta test, users have been recording gameplay videos of Sins of a Solar Empire to show the game off to friends.  This works out great because Sins is a game that demos very very well and it was easier to get the point of the game across in video than in words on a forum.  And since the game became widely available earlier this month, we've been seeing more and more Sins gameplay videos cropping up every day. So, we thought to ourselves "Why don't we d...

This Wednesday, February 7th at 4pm PST/7pm EST we will be hosting a developer chat to answer questions about Galactic Civilizations II: Dark Avatar, due for release this month. Even though this is not directly Sins of a Solar Empire related, this is your chance to chat a little bit and get a good look at the folks at Stardock behind the publishing side of Sins of a Solar Empire.  Yarlen and Frogboy will be present and we might have some time to field a few Sins questions during th...
