From technology to politics to video games; these are the random thoughts of a geek with too much time on his hands
It's been a big week so far for Apple and its iTunes Music Store.  Yesterday, it was announced that you can now purchase feature-length, near-dvd quality movies from the service, which recently began offering select television shows from networks such as ABC, Comedy Central, SciFi and others.  Movies on the service are currently only from Disney-owned studios (Disney, Mirimax, Touchstone etc.) but plans are to expand out to other studios in the future.  This places Apple in direct competition with Amazon's Unbox movie service.

Additionally, BetaNews is reporting today that soon you will be able to get highlight videos and the NFL GameDay Sunday Wrap-Up show from your favorite pro football games.  September 18th is the expected launch date for the NFL content.  Individual video items would cost $1.99 a piece, with the option to get a season pass for highlight videos ($24.99 per team), or the NFL GameDay videos ($19.99 for the season).

I wonder how compatable the video's are with other brands of portable video devices, like the Creative Zen Vision M or some of the other ones...

I seriously doubt that they will manage to get the other studios in on the deal, most big media companies are sick of giving apple a slice of their pie

Well if they bring in the NBA games I might actually consider buying a video iPod
