A new freebie, and an update for WinCustomize Subscribers
Published on October 12, 2006 By Zoomba In WinCustomize News
Two updated versions of Stardock's Halloween themed desktop are available for download now.

The first is a visual style package that includes everything you need to change your user interface into a scary Halloween look - including the software! You do not have to own any Stardock software in order to download and apply this great skin. The Halloween desktop includes the updated R.I.P. visual style, a wallpaper, and some fun ghost and jack-o-lantern gadgets that make eerie Halloween sounds when you click on them!

You can get the skin here.

Like this skin? Get the entire suite by becoming a WinCustomize subscriber! Keep Reading to find out how...

The R.I.P. visual style (previously a subscriber only resource) has been upgraded to an entire suite available ONLY to WinCustomize subscribers! It includes the updated R.I.P. skin (compliments of the great MikeB314) that incorporates a globe start button, per-pixel log-off and shutdown screens, a subscriber only wallpaper, icon set, a clock gadget and a calendar gadget.

If you are a subscriber, download your new updated R.I.P._2006 suite now by going here.

Not a subscriber? Go here.

The included R.I.P. suite icons are a modification of Mormegil's Apogee icons. Like the icons in this suite? Then you'll love the Apogee icons! Click here to learn more.

This is an awesome suite. My only issue is on FF the text isn't easy to see at all on the status bar. I know that is a problem sometimes with dark skins. Other than that this skin rules.

Love the suite, but one problem I seem to be having. I downloaded the subscriber suite and ran it. The gagets worked for a little while and all of a sudden the clock isn't showing on my desktop. The system tray icon is there and you can try to hide and show it doesn't work. I've unistalled the suite and reinstalled it still no progress to get the clock back. The calender is fine...please help! I really want to fix this problem and enjoy the suite.
on Oct 17, 2006
I just tried running the clock by itself.
when I changed the z order to always on top, it disappeared.
lost the tray icon too.

ran the suite with TM, checked the clocks z-order, was still 'always on top' = changed it back to 'normal' and it and the icon vanished.

I also noticed the TM says neither the calendar nor clock are downloaded, yet they are in the suite and do apply

Yes, I agree, mine also. Except, where putting z order in any order it doesn't do anything except loosing the tray icon. When reapplying the suite the tray icon comes back, but still no clock on desktop.

Well, sorry it took so long to respond back. I was waiting on stardock support and I got a response that fixed the problem I was having and hopefully it will fix others too. Here are some links to use that fixed the problem one is a clearing of cache and the other is a script reinstall. Do each one in order and it should fix it. http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/clear_cache_dx.bat
