WC: Vista-Ready!
Published on January 29, 2007 By Zoomba In WinCustomize News
Windows Vista marks a new era in desktop customization.  Last week we launched a gallery for LogonStudio Vista, and we've been hard at work with WindowBlinds 5.5 and a version of IconPackager that will allow you to keep your favorite icons and skins when you make the leap and upgrade.  But there's one aspect of customizing Vista that comes built-in; Sidebar Gadgets.

Today we've opened up the Sidebar Gadget Gallery here at WinCustomize.  In order to give the gallery the proper launch it deserves, we've been working with members of our community to have something ready to download in the gallery from day one.  Gadget masters rabidrobot, thomassen and ljames28 took the plunge in learning the new gadget environment as quickly as possible to give you all something to oogle over.  The gadgets we have so far are a great example of what you can do with the Sidebar, and we hope to become the place users go to, to find new and interesting sidebar gadgets.

So those of you who live on the bleeding edge and already have Vista as your main OS, we already have content for you!

I got an updated version in progree that features some nicer graphics. But I've run into some graphical glitch issue which I haven't been able to figure out. Not sure if it's because I got RC2.

Will the sidebar work on winxp?

If you have a legal copy of the sidebar and a program called VAIO, then yes.

There may be workarounds to get them on XP, but this gallery is targeted at gadgets that work in the Windows Vista Sidebar, so Vista as a requirement is more or less implied.
