DA takes the gaming world by storm!
Published on February 14, 2007 By Zoomba In GalCiv II News
Review #2 is in, and boy is it a doozie!  GameSpy took a look at the final version of the game and, let me just say, they were very pleased with what they saw.  The three page review, written by veteran strategy gamer Allen Rausch, pretty much waxes poetic about the new features we crammed into Dark Avatar.

A choice quote:

"In my original review of Dread Lords I said "Master of Orion is dead. Long live Galactic Civilizations II." After a week of playing Dark Avatar, you may forget Master of Orion altogether."

Allen even commented that the AI was so good, he had to abandon his normal difficulty of "Challenging" and play at "Normal" due to how much better the AI players had become since the original game.

The final verdict?  A 5 out of 5 and Editors Choice Award!  Dark Avatar is on its way to being one of the highest rated games of 2007!

I have been on the fence about getting the explansion, partly because my finances are a little tight right now, but a perfect score for an expansion pack (by a small publisher no less) is almost unheard of!

It is good to hear that Stardock is continuning to develop a strong reputation with both consumers and critics alike.

I have to agree, I was playing GalCiv , Altarian Prophecy , GalCiv2 and while I liked them it was mainly because there was nothing better.

The DA is the first part where I REALLY started to enjoy , actually not even storyline which is OK but nothing too special, but the gameplay itself - the features , the balance , the level of complexity everything seems "just about right".
