From technology to politics to video games; these are the random thoughts of a geek with too much time on his hands
Critical praise continues to come in from the gaming press.  Our latest review comes from the folks over at GameVortex who gave Galactic Civilizations II: Dark Avatar a glowing 95% review.  Reviewer Ricky Tucker breaks the game down into 4 categories; Graphics & Sound, Gameplay,  Difficulty, and Game Mechanics.  Needless to say,  the improved visuals, and AI got a vigorous nod of approval.

Here's a little bit on what he had to say about the campaign included in the expansion:

The original Campaign mode was enjoyable, but it was simply window dressing. Here, the story will set up situations that require you to change your play style and tactics, such as having to sneak around the galaxy, deploying spies or forging alliances.

All-in-all, GameVortex concludes that Dark Avatar improves on what was already "a great strategy game" making it a must-have for any strategy gamer nut out there.
