From technology to politics to video games; these are the random thoughts of a geek with too much time on his hands
All the news that's fit to... well... summarize...
Published on March 9, 2007 By Zoomba In WinCustomize News

A lot has been going on around the community the past week or two.  This news item is just a quick summary of some of the major points that you might have missed.

  1. This Week in Skinning - March 9th
Every week, Island Dog does a quick round-up of some of the more interesting items posted to WinCustomize in the last seven or so days.  It's a good series to keep an eye on as you might miss some of the great stuff that gets featured otherwise.

  2. Desktop Themes: Ready to Change Your Desktop Theme?
It's an ongoing series by Island Dog as he goes through all the aspects of your Desktop Theme experience.  This week he posted part four focusing on LogonStudio and ObjectBar.  Check out all the parts here:
    1. Desktop Themes Part 1 - WindowBlinds, Wallpapers & IconPackager
    2. Desktop Themes Part 2 - CursorXP and ObjectDock
    3. Desktop Themes Part 3 - DesktopX Widgets
    4. Desktop Themes Part 4 - Login Studio & Object Bar

  3. New Skinning.net
Community skinning site, Skinning.net, home to several of our forum and skin moderators, underwent a recent facelift and technical upgrade.  If you previously had an account there, you'll need to create a new one.  Be sure to check it out and let them know what you think.

  4. New Customize.org
Are you a fan of Web 2.0 tech?  Are you all about sites like Digg, Technocrati, and other social network sites?  Well then you'd probably be interested in seeing what the new Customize.org has to offer.  Just this week they relaunched the site with a new, slick layout and set of features.  One of the oldest skinning sites on the net is making a comeback, and they are definitely putting their best foot forward.

That about covers the big events from the past week or so.  Remember, if you know of any great community news items, you can submit news yourself by clicking the "Submit News" link at the top of the news section here on the front page of WinCustomize.com.  Users with Journeyman level access or higher automatically get their news items posted. (The rest have to be moderated)

Have a great weekend!
