From technology to politics to video games; these are the random thoughts of a geek with too much time on his hands

Maybe you don't have immediate access to your PC with all your editing software, or maybe you're a poor student without the vast resources to scrape together to go out and purchase a graphics package to edit your vacation photos.  Well, instead of obtaining the software through more questionable means, you could turn to free and legal options.  All you need is a web browser, a good net connection, and a stack of photos ready to edit.

ExtremeTech takes a look at 5 web-based photo editing tools that are 100% free to use.  They take a walk through them, outlining features, pros and cons along with some nice screenshots so you can get a quick feel for what the tools look like.  They're all still considered very "beta" but the ExtremeTech folks didn't hit any real showstopper bugs. If you've got a bunch of digital photos that need some retouching, it might be worth your time to check out the article and try a few of the profiled tools.
