It's Opening Day for the Major League Baseball season here in the US, and droves of people are skipping school and work for this unofficial national holiday.  Now, if you're a baseball nut but are stuck at your desk during those pesky day games, there's a plethora of technological solutions available to you to keep up to date on the latest scores.  Koop passed along an article from Wired.com about desktop widgets for the baseball season.

The article looks at 6 different widgets for systems like Apple Dashboard, Yahoo Widgets and the Google Personalized Homepage.  So no matter what, unless your office web filters block Google.com, you can get your scores and info any time of the day.

It's also worth mentioning that local DesktopX Gadget Guru, RomanDA, has a gadget called SportStrip on DesktopGadgets.com that pulls the latest scores and information not only for Major League Baseball, but also the NHL, NBA, NFL and NCAA football and basketball.  If you're looking for an all-in-one sports checker, this is the one to snag.

Thanks for the include.. I plan on updating the FREE version sometime in the next few weeks, there were a lot of updates since that version was released, but have not re-uploaded any DEMO/FREE version with these changes.

I might even add the baseball diamond with who's on base (i had that info avail, just never added it.). Might just move all that into a separate baseball gadget, who knows, if there is a desire for one.
