Funny thing, I was cleaning my desk up when I spotted this article...

A few weeks ago, I posted a story from Lifehacker about really cool monitor setups.  We've chatted here at length many times before on who has the sweetest setup, the desk with the best toys and tech, the most blinking lights etc.  Some of you have some great setups at home and at work, but while they may be stylish, are they well organized?  Personally, my desk both at home and at the office ends up being a mess of cables, keyboards, mice, speakers, CD cases and manuals.  Organization is definitely not my strong suit.

Today, Lifehacker has another cool feature in it's cool workspace contest series; most organized.

Organization, cable management and creative use of space to hold your electronic goodies goes a long way towards making a workspace especially good looking and usable.  The winners in this category show off everything from a desk that's actually hidden within a chest of drawers, to someone who attaches gadgets to the underside of desks and shelves so they're hidden from sight.  One even has taken cable management to an art form and has one of the cleanest setups I've ever seen.

Is your desk this well organized?

What's the old saying "clutter is a sign of someone doing work"!!!!

Do any of these people do any work at thier computers, give me a break!!!!!!

If these peole have that much time to make the area around the computer look so nice, they aren't using the computer for much of anything if at all!!!!!!!

Sorry for the rant, really nice "WC news story" would love to see more.

I like keeping my office organized, but I don't go to extremes.

Same here Island_Dog, I find the more clutter around me the less I actually get done. Also, I can't stand seeing cables everywhere and so on. Zip cords are your friend

I like to make my area look nice and clean, but I don't go to the extremes either. I unplug my cables to much that it would be useless to keep it lookin good, because there'd be all the more work.

Yep. I am using an old keyboard with marker over it and a ball-mouse (which STINKS), I keep forgetting to hook up my wireless keyboard/mouse again, but with this old stuff, It makes it look like I'm working more than it does with a clean computer. I mean, it's takes SO long to clean your computer you wouldn't even have time to use your PC!

Organised chaos.

I file everything under 'a' .... a invoice...a file...a account....

If you don't throw anything out nothing is ever lost....it's always 'here somewhere'...

Organised chaos.

Not exactly.......

....but organised chaos is the result for anyone messing with my organised space.

And no, this isn't just for the camera, I'm extremely fussy about tidiness when it comes to my PC & desktop organisation.
