A peek inside the collective mind of the community
Published on September 27, 2007 By Zoomba In WinCustomize News

Sure the front page of WinCustomize is dominated by folks like myself, Frogboy and Island Dog, but there's a whole world behind the curtain that's filled with activity and discussion.  Unless you were watching the Recent Forum Activity box like a hawk, there's a chance you might have missed out on some of the most popular discussion topics currently going in our forums.  Here are a few I picked out as being some of the most popular discussions from the last few days:

  • female skinners
Are female skinners under-represented in the community?  Are they given fair treatment?  kittymalone kicks off a great discussion on gender and the community.
  • Did you know?
Pssst... Jafo had a birthday this week...
  • Evolution of a Masterskin...Slider XP
This is an ongoing thread started by I. R. Brainiac showing off how his latest skin, intended to be sold as a Master Skin on WinCustomize, evolves from a concept to a finished product.
  • What are you "working" on?
A never-ending thread where you can share what you're currently working on.  Have a WindowBlinds skin, icon set, or wallpaper in the works you want to talk about or get feedback on?  Then this is the thread for you.
  • SoundPackager 0.9.0.0 BETA Feedback
We recently made the beta for SoundPackager available to ObjectDesktop subscribers.  This thread is for feedback on the app.  Have a bug?  A feature request?  General feedback on how the tool handles?  Post it here.

If you haven't already, check out these discussion threads and toss in your own two cents.

I find the 'female skinners' a good one.  It focusses on two favourite subjects....females and skinners....

Actually it's a great subject of relevance to our online community and to skinning in general.

The 'Evolution of a Master skin' is the closest thread I've seen to the halcyon days of the 'Community Skin' project/s when people were hanging out avidly for the latest news/details of how it was all coming along....a great sense of anticipation...
