Clicky, clicky, clickity-click

RightClick is an app that is often overlooked by many skinners and owners of Object Desktop, but for those who have given it a whirl, it quickly becomes absolutely indispensable as a productivity tool.  But on top of being incredibly useful, it can be skinned too, so not only is it useful, but stylish as well.  The RightClick gallery here at WinCustomize is a pretty busy place, and if you haven't checked it out yet, you definitely should to see what you're missing out on.

Here are a few of my favorite RightClick skins that have recently been uploaded.

I have no idea how to use right click so I never use it.

Are there any advantageous using right click verses objectdock plus which I can't live without? Or can they be used together to make my life more resourceful?

I use them together.
I occasionally go without OD+ just to see my taskbar on a new skin. I don't like it but I can deal with it. If for some reason I lost RightClick I'd probably have a nervous breakdown. It's my "CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT" program.

I have a problem, sometime after installing Right Click and a handful of skins, all the skins are now unpacked to the skins folder instead of making a separate folder for each skin (inside the skins folder).
Any thoughts on what went wrong?

Lantec I see we feel the same way only on opposite ends of the spectrum. Maybe I'll try out RightClick just to check it out.

I use Object Dock Plus, and have for a long time and have used Right Click off and on since it's release. I tend to go with applications that don't crash on a regular basis as RC does, at least on my systems, but ODP has been rock solid on both my XP and Vista 64 systems. Not sure I see the advantage of running both but if it would be stable, I can see how RC would have a very small advantage over ODP but only in the convenience category IMO.

Right Click is the only thing which makes Vista tollerable. You can actually have a proper fly-out programs list instead of using that crappy Vista start menu.

If you set up RC properly you barely need your start menu or all programs menus.
Or you can just add your most used items to it. Im like Lantec - I could not live without the program at this point , its how I get around my computer - Id be lost .

Are you talking about skins you downloaded from the RightClick gallery ?
All the skins are zipped and you just unzip them to the RightClick skin folder. Once there each skin should automatically make its own folder and you will find the skins in the RightClick Menu Editor (Click on skins tab )

Are you saying that when you unzip the RC skin to RC skin folder your just getting a bunch of scattered files without a folder ? Can you be specific on which skins your referring to.

Essentially, using both would be equivalent to a typical LiteSTEP shell theme  [alternative shell to Explorer]...and that's probably the most 'enduring' of alternate shells out there....much of which was/is due to its 'right-click' functionality ...

Without a doubt RC is the most useful of all Stardocks applications. If I were to try setting up OD with everything I have on my RC menu my screen would be covered with docks and icons and I still wouldnt have half of it.

Everything is just a rightclick away and no screen real estate is taken up. Now if the developers could just get RC to support png's everything would be perfect.

It depends on how the author packaged them...if they selected all the files inside the folder and zipped them or if they selected the folder with the files in it and zipped the folder. The former will get you no folder, the latter will get you the folder with files contained inside. That's been my experience anyhow.

Thats why I asked him for more info - I've never come across a RC skin that didn't have a folder. I've downloaded many Rainlendars that did exactly what he said - you need to make your own folder with appropriate name then unzip to the folder you made or you end up with a bunch of loose files - so he can always make a folder in RightClick skins folder before unzipping.
Unless he is having an isolated problem.
