Here's the Day 43 Update for the WinCustomize Charity/Subscription Drive.

  • Subscriptions: 1,133 (56.65% of goal)
  • Charity Dollars Raised: $3,849.24 (76.98% of total)

This is it folks... we are down to the very last day of the drive!  When the calendar turns over to December 15th, we're done.  If you've been putting off buying a subscription, or picking up a great Master Skin, you better do it now before it's too late.  On Monday we'll have a final tally.  I would be thrilled to say we closed the $1260.76 gap and met the $5000 goal.  Help me out here people.  You want me to be happy right?

Featured Charity Skins

Master skinners were asked if they wanted to donate a portion of their skins to the charity drive this year.  We already looked at vStyler's contributions, as well as work from adni18, SK Originals, treetog, I.R. Brainiac and brewman   Today, lets look at a few more Master Skins to wrap up the review.

Gadgets by RomanDA

RomanDA was extremely generous and offered to donate a portion of the sale of all of his Master Gadgets to the charity.  Remember, that all of his Master Gadgets have a limited functionality free trial version for you to take for a spin before buying.

SportStrip

Holiday Countdown PRO

Time Commander

The perfect gadget for the sports fanatic in your life.  Use this gadget to track scores and stats in near real-time for the:

  • NFL
  • NHL
  • NBA
  • MLB
  • NCAA Football
  • NCAA Basketball

The gadget comes packed with settings to tweak that let you turn the gadget into your sports monitoring command center.  Best of all it uses the web to get information, so you don't have to worry about your office firewall blocking it

SportStrip is available for $4.95

Just in time for the holidays, you can get your hands on a copy of Holiday Countdown PRO, a great little gadget to help you keep track of those important dates during the year.

PRO allows you to create countdowns for your own events, and includes premade counters for all US holidays and if you haven't set any dates, it will automatically pick the next closest holiday to track.

Holiday Countdown PRO comes with a sizable selection of icons for your custom holidays, so no two will look alike.

Holiday Countdown PRO is available for $6.95
Ever find yourself having to track multiple lists of tasks for different projects, be them personal or professional?  Do you do contract work that requires you to track billable hours?

If you do, then Time Commander is the gadget you MUST have.

Track work by customer, project or task at increments between 15min and 1 hour.

All reports generated by Time Commander can export to plain text format, or to an Excel spreadsheet.

Time Commander is probably the best example an application that can be built with DesktopX.

You can get a copy for just $9.95

Site Checker

File Transporter

I love this gadget.  If you have to monitor the health/availability of a website for any reason, this is a must-have.

Site Checker allows you to easily keep tabs on as many websites as you like, giving you their status via nice color-coded lights.

Site Checker pings a specified site at an interval you set (every 1-60min) and checks to make sure the main page loads properly (checks for a closing body tag).

It has a full and mini mode so it won't take up much screen real-estate.

Site Checker is a very useful, and pretty cheap gadget.  Get it now for just $2.99
Do you find yourself uploading files to an FTP server a lot?  Maybe it's for a class project, maybe it's for a website you're developing, who knows.

If you're always transferring files to the same locations (like an images directory), this is a fantastic gadget to have.

All you have to do is configure the gadget to connect to your set of FTP accounts, and then just drag and drop files you want to upload onto the desktop gadget and VIOLA!  The gadget will upload the file automatically.

It doesn't get much easier than drag-and-drop.

File Transporter is another affordable gadget that you can pick up for the low, low price of $2.99

Yesterday's lucky draw offer is still valid. Everybody that takes out a subscription, re-subscription or buys one of the recognised charity skins, during this period, will have their name entered into a prize drawer. The winner can choose up to $20.00 worth of prize(s) from this site.

You've gotta understand - if I can't get rid of this here, it'll only go to relatives for Xmas.... that'll make them think I like them.... then they'll start ringing, wanting to come over, I'll have to get in extra food & drink - it'll cost a fortune and probably leave me homeless and destitute - my kitten may freeze.... okay I don't have a kitten, but I could borrow one if it helps......

So do something today while there's still time. Subscribe/re-subscribe, buy a featured charity skin in this final period and give yourself a big shout out here.....

That way your name will be added to the draw.

Well I'm in. What tipped over into the subscriber column was reading that Stardock designs are creating more free skins. I love their Diamond and Quest skins that came out recently. So I figured I'd sub just to say thanks.

Kylhwch

Congrats and thanks for joining in. PM me to let me know what you'd like.

Beyond your choice(s),I just need other than your User Name, the e-mail you use to make Stardock purchases, and if you want a re-subscription, your present subscription serial no.

(just for info: Island Dog's name was also in the draw, taken over from a previous thread)
