A mixed reaction

With the release of DeskScapes 2.0 beta for Object Desktop subscribers, many Vista users for the first time have access to Animated & Dynamic Wallpapers that were previously only available to Vista Ultimate users.  Keeping in mind that it is a beta, I asked what everyone's general impressions of the 2.0 version were.  Here are the results:

While a fair number of you (39%) liked or loved it, fully a third of you really weren't happy with the first beta release.  To those who are disappointed with it, we would love to hear why (but keep in mind that it is beta software and not fully tested/developed).  Your feedback will help us improve the software for the final release next month.

(edited to correct my terrible math)

I keep seeing this "internal player" mentioned,I have Vista Home Premium with DeskScapes installed, can I choose between internal and external players and if so,how?

I believe this is an Vista Ultimate only item. On my Ultimate system with Dreamscenes and the Deskscapes beta installed, I have a check box above the sizing boxes on the bottom right of the Desktop wallpaper window where you choose the dream you want to run. On my Premium system with deskscapes installed, I do not have that box.

BTW...I liked the toothless oldman with the scrunched up face avitar better.

The software worked ok for me, it had a few bugs, but that is not why I hated it. I think the concept is one better suited for hollywood movies, not practical computing. After 2 hours of use even the subtle themes were very distracting to me. I can finally say now after having experienced the moving wall that I would rather just watch the animation or do my work, not both.

I really like it, but I wish it was a bit user friendly. and it still has some bugs in. but all in all I like it.

Very surprised at the percentage who hate Deskscapes. I LOVE it and use a different Dreamscene regularly. The software works excellent on my PC!
