Owie... ears hurt
Published on February 12, 2008 By Zoomba In MP3 Players

Today I was handed a nice 8gb Zune 2.  It was a gift from Microsoft to Stardock CEO Brad Wardell and had engraved on the back.  It came in a very nice bag and I took it home with me with the intention of writing a review on it this week.

So far I've been using it for about 15-20min and I just wanted to toss out my initial impressions:

  1. So tiny and light.
  2. Box is very reminiscent of iPod packaging
  3. These earpohones hurt!
  4. Woo!  Radio on an mp3 player!
  5. Touch pad more responsive than I expected
  6. There's wireless syncing?  neat.... now to get it working...

At the moment I'm tooling around Zune Marketplace, grabbing podcasts to try etc.  I'll have a more detailed review in a few days complete with pictures and screenshots.

Look forward to it. I am looking for an alternative to iPod since 1) I don't like iTunes and 2) I like the wide screen but will not shove out $400 for 16 gigs.

My problem with the Zune is that ugly black button pad and the choice of colors. Brown?
