When Did You Join? How Did You Find Us?

Since we've been around for seven years, we've seen a lot of people come and go from the userlists. As I've said, in that time we've seen several million folks stop by long enough to create an account with us. In those years, the composition of the community has changed greatly. A lot of the prominent faces around today weren't here back in 2001, and a lot of the folks from 2001 have since moved on to other things.

So while everyone knows the general story and history of WinCustomize, I'd like to hear a little bit more from all of you. When did you join the site? How did you find us? What brought you to the world of skinning? Share a bit of your history as it relates to WC with the rest of the community.

i was using AOL at the time but i was surfing the internet and found a site called download.com,while i was looking at thier huge downloads and such i ran across a program called windowblinds...being curious of what the program was i downloaded it,scan it for viruses and then installed it...it was a neat program too...i was running winblows 98 at that time and i found the program pretty cool i then did a search using AOL and it linked me to this site which i must of downloaded a truck full of skins....

Been here ages, and in skinning in general since '99.

Took me a few months to find out why the old site wasn't there anymore...duh! Then joined WC.

This account is from May 2002. My old account had my real name on it. You couldn't change nicks in those days so I opened this one.

Been here since July 8, 2007. Yep, less than a year.

My brother recommended the site to me. I was making icons for my desktop because I thought the default ones were ugly. He showed me a few things he was creating and I loved them. I came here and was amazed at the things that could be made! I got a subscription, then shortly after, got Object Desktop. I've been learning new things and creating things ever since. I stop in every day.

This place feels like home and you all have become my extended family.

I joined the site Nov.29th 2004. I was looking for something like that cool little bar on a Mac and found Object Dock, been here ever since. 7 months later started trying my hand at icons and the rest is history!

Truth be told I was surfing for pr0n and when I googled "download skin" I hit upon WC.

It was December, 2005. I had my first home PC in years(08/2005). I found CNet and somehow found Window Blinds. Took the trial and bought Object Desktop within 2-3 weeks. I'm here at the site almost daily and several times/day at that.

Joined in March 05 ,not sure why

,how on earth is one supposed to remember how one came here,my guess would be a download.com email & to do with cursor xp ,i just used the free version then used free objectdock,tried rocketdock & STablauncher.Around late 06 i decided to buy CXP & OD,then not long after jumped in boots n all & bought ODNT amongst other goodies.
