From technology to politics to video games; these are the random thoughts of a geek with too much time on his hands
Jorge, Jorge, Jorge of the jungle...
Published on June 9, 2008 By Zoomba In WinCustomize News
We've hit the two month mark with the show and this week I'm again absent from the show (I was locked away in our datacenter racking some new servers) but Spencer picks up the slack and talks with Jorge, the developer behind WinStep Technologies and their flagship Winstep Xtreme software, a complete desktop replacement for Windows.  Jorge tells Spencer all about the history of Winstep from all the way back in the NeXT days up through programming under Vista.  He also answers a few community questions.  The show comes in at 32 minutes and is one of my favorites so far.

Now we've talked to a moderator, a user, a skinner, a gadget maker and now a software developer on the show, covering pretty much the entire spectrum of user types in the community.  Hopefully in the future we'll be able to mix it up a bit by getting a fourth person on and get some really interesting discussions going.

Any chance of including an ordinary citizen in an upcoming screencast?

I now know a lot more about Winstep, thanks for having Jorge on.

All of the episodes have been good and for me at least they are giving a great back ground or history to customizing.

Having a fourth person should indeed help generate discussions and give a chance to have on an ordinary citizen as Pixeleo asked.

Great show.

As someone who just got into the whole customizing thing recently, I'd have to agree it's been nice to hear about some of the beginnings of customizing in both this and other interviews.

Jorge was a great guy to speak with, I really enjoyed it.  So much more to talk about, but he will definitely need to make a return in the future.
