From technology to politics to video games; these are the random thoughts of a geek with too much time on his hands

Last week we talked a bit about a potential feature for the next WinCustomize site update; Skinning Groups.  The idea is basically to add functionality to the site that would make it easier for skinners to get together and organize larger projects.  I wanted to gauge everyone's feelings on the idea so the poll was a simple Yea/Nay deal.

Overall, most of you were in favor of it with about 80% saying yes to 20% saying no.

A few concerns were raised in the discussion of the idea, and just to quickly squash them:

  1. This would be a free feature
At the basic level, this would be a free feature.  However if there was demand for it, a more complex system could be considered as part of the subscription as an enhanced service.
  2. No one would be required to join a team
No one will have to join a team if they don't want to.  This would be a completely voluntary system only for those who want to participate.

So given the positive response, we're going to add it to the wishlist for WCv6.

It's on the wishlist for the next major update to WinCustomize, which sadly isn't going to be for a long while yet.
