Next step... world domination!
WARNING: Self-congratulatory fluff type of article follows. If you don't like anniversary/milestone posts, please go elsewhere!
Two years ago today, I posted my first article here on JU. It was just days after I had graduated from college and was setting out on the grand adventure called life. In the article I set myself 5 goals for the following year. Get a job, become financially indepenent, become more social, meet a nice girl, and start to figure out what I want to be doing in life. While 2004 was NOT the year for most of that (I got a sorta job in the fall that didn't really turn into a full real job until 2005), 2005 shaped up to be a damn good year for me where I met each and every one of the previous year's goals.
JU has essentially seen me go from an insecure college student who expected the world given to him for no effort, to a (realtively) stable professional in my chosen field (IT, security focus). My politics have over time changed from extreme liberal (grew up in a college town with a Prof for a dad) to considerably more moderate. I've blogged on topics ranging from Iraq, online dating services, video games, LEGOs, technology of all sorts, the blogging community to jumping off a bridge in New Zealand. I've met some great people through the site and just in-general had a great time blogging here. It's helped me refine my writing and my ability to argue a point without getting angry.
Two years. 124 Articles. 13818 points. Occassionally in the top-10.
Here's to a few more great years of JU blogging!
Happy New Year Everyone!
