The world turns, the weekend passes and once again we find ourselves at Monday, facing another workweek filled with meetings, voicemail traffic and more. And as always, I'm here to help ease you back into all of that with some of the outstanding skins submitted to WinCustomize over the weekend. Today I've got some great stuff; docks, icons, RightClick, DesktopX and 3 WindowBlinds skins! This should keep you busy for a bit this morning... ...

This week, we hear from WOM, Koasati, Starone, Zubaz, Quentin94, Fuzzy Logic, Hankers, Jafo, Erk and Snowman. Question 1 - Is there anything you miss about not being a moderator (i.e. a regular user) (HG_Eliminator) Wizop WOM Yes, not having to watch what you say when people piss you off. Super Wizop Koasati No, not really. Wizop starone ...
Friday! As you mentally ease into the weekend (oh who are we kidding, you checked out about 5min after getting to work this morning), Island Dog has a list of great skins from the week gone by. This week, Island Dog features a cursor, a WindowBlinds skin, an ObjectDock icon, an IconPack, a wallpaper, a Dream and a great Sysinfo widget by RomanDA to go along with Quest. Overall, it's an outstanding selection this week
As January drew to a close, I again asked the moderator team to pick out their favorite skins for the month. And as always, they came through in fine form with some outstanding skins. Troll Thumping Day theAVMAN "I'm biased, but the Troll Thumping suite (not yet a suite but a collection of skins) has been an extraordinary undertaking filled with learning and fun. Not to take away from any of the other artists involve, ...
TheMasterBaron is our lone Master Dream Maker here on WinCustomize. Over the last year, he's turned out some outstanding Dreams that people have eagerly snatched up as soon as they were released. He is often asked what he uses to make his Dreams, and for tips on how to make great animated wallpapers. So yesterday he responded with an article detailing how he makes his dreams, what tools he uses, and a handful of helpful tips for aspiring Dream makers. Check out " Tools of the ...
Since March '07, Island Dog has been coming to you with a summary every month of the best dreams on the site. He's presented these round-ups as video collages, showing them all in action, usually set to music to make the viewing a bit more interesting. Today, he's back at it with his summary from January. This month he features seven great Dreams in what is probably his best video to date. If you're curious about what these great dreams look like but don't want to download ...
Ok, so yesterday you picked up a copy of CursorFX and you've played around with the included cursor themes but now you want more. Did you know that on WinCustomize we have nearly 2,000 Cursor Themes available for free download? There's definitely no lack of great sets to pick from. To get you started, I suggest these: ...
After nearly 5 years, the time has come to update Stardock's digital distribution tool; Stardock Central. Yesterday, Brad posted a preview of Impulse, the tool that will replace SDC later this year. The article goes into details of what new and cool features Impulse will have, along with some great screenshots to whet your appetite. Impulse holds a lot of promise for new services and features that will without a doubt benefits skinners, users and developers alike. ...
Love is in the air. As Valentines Day nears, guys all over are scrambling for dinner reservations, flowers, chocolates and other little gifts to show they care (or they're brooding at home, bitter and resentful towards the cruel-cruel world). Well, since it's a holiday of sorts, Island Dog is on the lookout for Valentines Day themed skins, icons, walls and more. So do you have a V-Day skin you're working on? Spotted one somewhere on the site that you think ID should take no...
One of my all-time favorite icons sets is Buuf by mattahan. They have an amazing quirky style that looks almost like they're molded out of clay, and the names for the files are hilarious. Back in 2006 a few of our skinners contacted mattahan asking if they could convert his icons to Windows (he's a Mac user). He consented and we got the great Buuf icon set from rgerrans . Well, turns out mattahan is at it again with a second Buuf set, and our friends at Shellscape have c...
It hardly feels like it's time for the weekend to be over. I feel cheated somehow, like the time was stolen from me by a clan of evil lawn gnomes, out to take what little is left of my sanity. But since it is in fact Monday, it's time for me to dig through the weekend submissions bin and select my favorites and share them with you. *grumble* damn gnome...
Here's a fun question to start everyone's week out: How did you pick the handle/nickname you use online? We have an odd collection of names out here. Ranging from Little-Whip and EmperorOfIceCream to Locamama, DrGuy, Frogboy and more. It's always interesting to see what names people pick for themselves when they are given the chance to create a completely new persona for themsleves. So, how/why did you come up with yours? Mine? Everyone alwasy figures there's...
Ok, this can be chalked up as being one of the absolute worst weeks I've had in quite a while. If it could go wrong, it did, and after going wrong it seemed to just compound and get worse. I'm so glad it's almost the weekend, I could dance. So, even though this has been a more active blogging week for me than most, I'm still doing my new weekly bit, if only to get into the habit. What I'm Playing Burnout Paradise Last weekend, I grabbed the Burnout Paradise demo fro...
This is the chat log from the February 1st Developer chat in #sins on irc.stardock.com. I've cleaned up the log for readability and to remove extra bits like join/leave messages etc. I've also grouped responses by question as things were jumbled a few times during the chat. Session Start: Fri Feb 01 20:01:21 2008 <SD-Zoomba> Welcome everyone to the Sins of a Solar Empire Developer Chat <SD-Zoomba> To start with, lets go around the chat and let everyone from ...
