Ah, it's that time of year again.  Time for snowmen, snowball fights, hot chocolate by a roaring fire, Christmas decorations, sleigh rides and more.  Yes, it's Winter at last.

To get the season off to a good start, Stardock Design has put together the Winter Wonderland Suite.

Take a stroll through a snow covered lane and see candy canes, snowmen, and twinkling lights. Winter Wonderland brings back memories of the Holidays of the past, and makes you dream of white holidays. This heart warming suite features a heavily animated whimsical start menu, holiday inspired icons, snowy gadgets and wallpapers to warm your heart.

Winter Wonderland comes with:

  • A WindowBlinds 6 Skin with an animated start menu
  • 2 wallpapers
  • Holiday icons (includes Vista icons)
  • Holiday desktop gadgets (clock & weather)

But how can you get this suite I'm sure you're asking yourself right now?  Between now and January 3rd, 2008, you will get Winter Wonderland FREE with the purchase of any Premium Suite

I see an animated snow-man fall out of the start menu.  Very odd indeed.

for how much ?

more than the $4.95 of the cheapest premium on sale or less than $4.95

$4 is a little low. $7-8 seems to be the going rate for a suite with skins/icons/gadgets and wallpapers. Maybe a little less as it's a seasonal skin. The only "offer" should be the usual discount for subscribers.

Can I swap my RIP suite? I didn't really want that, but it came free with my Magic suite.

well, I happen to be another one of those guys who has bought every single premium suite. I wish this promotion would have been thought through a little more on the business end. Wulfn1 (comment#15) had the best idea. I would gladly pick it up. I just feel like I'm wasting money. Oh well. It looks really cool!

I don't get this you would buy it for more than the cheapest suite on offer if it was a stand alone suite.

So why not just buy it and 1) Don't download the premium suite or 2) If you don't want it after download just delete it.

Then once you have it just think to yourself £4.95 for a Christmas suite how cheaps that.

I love this suite! Honestly, I feel like we've entered a whole new (wonderful) era in skinning since WB6 came out. Money very well spent!

Couple things though -

1. I had an older Blind called 'Winter Wonderland' by B Bull(aka Boopish) installed. It used to be on Wincustomize but it's not anymore. Here's a link to it at Skin Artistry Link.

Anyway, the premium skin conflicts with the older one. I (sadly) had to delete the WW folder, apply a different Blind just to refresh my desktop, and then reapply the new Winter Wonderland Premium Suite . Just a heads up.

2. To those who want to buy the skin outright - there's no functional difference between buying this skin and getting a second skin free or buying some other skin and getting this one free. Either way, you're getting this skin for $9. Just pick an older premium skin and pretend you're really paying for this one.

I have bought every premium skin and I know no one else who uses Windowblinds that I could purchase a skin for. I am very disappointed that this could not have been a premium skin to buy on it's own.

I also agree that using it next year might not even be because new versions on WB will be out by then and it will be obsolete and there will probably be another holiday skin available.

Forget it. They are not listening. Scrooge must be lingering about somewhere. Bah-Humbug.
