Gone away, is the blue bird, here to stay is a new bird....

Ah, it's that time of year again.  Time for snowmen, snowball fights, hot chocolate by a roaring fire, Christmas decorations, sleigh rides and more.  Yes, it's Winter at last.

To get the season off to a good start, Stardock Design has put together the Winter Wonderland Suite.

Take a stroll through a snow covered lane and see candy canes, snowmen, and twinkling lights. Winter Wonderland brings back memories of the Holidays of the past, and makes you dream of white holidays. This heart warming suite features a heavily animated whimsical start menu, holiday inspired icons, snowy gadgets and wallpapers to warm your heart.

Winter Wonderland comes with:

  • A WindowBlinds 6 Skin with an animated start menu
  • 2 wallpapers
  • Holiday icons (includes Vista icons)
  • Holiday desktop gadgets (clock & weather)

But how can you get this suite I'm sure you're asking yourself right now?  Between now and January 3rd, 2008, you will get Winter Wonderland FREE with the purchase of any Premium Suite

Thought I would pick this up so I bought the Magic suit and this one came with it.

Did the discount for subscribers not apply to this purchase? Normally it applies when you check out but this charged me full price.

If you didn't purchase through the stardock.com/products/odnt/od-discount.asp page, then that's the reason the discount didn't apply.  Your Store login is separate from your WC login...for security reasons.  You may be able to contact sales@stardock.com to see if they can help in your situation. (That's for Object Desktop Subscribers that is... Not Wincustomize Subscribers, Wincustomize Subscriber discount applies to Master Skins).

How about selling it as stand alone for $7:45

cheapest is $4:95 so $2:50 above that to Charity Drive

Just a thought

Premium Suites vs Master Skins... two completely different things where the money goes in very different directions.  Premium Suites are a Stardock Design product, Master Skins are a WinCustomize/Master Skinner product.

The charity is only related to direct WinCustomize products such as subscriptions and the selected Master Skins.

Ok as said was just a thought

still don't follow why you would not buy it as offer is if you wanted the Christmas one

sort of cutting off nose etc.

I doubt I will ever use the one I brought to get the Christmas one. It was just a means to an end.

1. I had an older Blind called 'Winter Wonderland' by B Bull(aka Boopish) installed. It used to be on Wincustomize but it's not anymore. Here's a link to it at Skin Artistry Link.

Thanks for the heads up as I to had Boopish WW skin. Sorry to let it go, but I know I am getting the better skin.

Funny thing happened today, early this morning...I bought Suite 18 by Adni18 to help the charity drive along, since I am payed up on WC until 2012. And then I checked the front page news and found out about the Christmas suite. Which I really wanted. Since I missed out on getting the Magic suite; I just didn't have the money at the time.

So, I am very happy to get the suite I really wanted and also the Christmas Suite. It's a two for one deal. And I am very far away from buying all the suites on Stardock; Just can't afford them all.

I know a good deal when I see one. A two for one is a get deal!!! In the out side world I am always looking for the best deals. I rarely pay full price for anything I just don't have the money.

Thank You Stardock amd Merry Chistmas to you all.

Thank you for the reply. Stardock sales emailed me back and credited my account for $2.00 due to my Object Desktop Subscription. Funny thing is they said there was a check box you have to check to apply your Object Desktop subscription discount yet the Wincustomize subscription discount applies automatically. Seems strange for it to be set up that way.

So why not just buy it and 1) Don't download the premium suite or 2) If you don't want it after download just delete it.

The principal my friend, the principal.
But I like your "give some to charity" idea. Ok, it doesn't go with the Wincust charity, but there are plenty of others out there.
I think instead of buying a skin I don't want, I will sacrifice this Xmas skin and give the cash to charity direct.
£10 is on it's way to www.breastcancercare.org.uk

Really, really annoying you can't just buy it.

Most of the premium suites other than this are unusable or just look bad on Vista (especially the icons as they are pre-Vista).

I don't want to buy a skin I will never use just to own this one, it makes no sense to me.

Think of it the other way around you are buying Winter Wonderland and picking a free one.

Then if the free one is rubbish well most give away stuff is poor so no loss.

$5 = £2.47 thats not bad is it

Does this guy work at Stardock Design now?

Nice Suit there Warreni !!! Really like that hat too...

I'm like you - have to look things over again and figure which is what. Just so I can have that Christmas desktop for the living room computer. Thats the one the guest use when they come over. Me - I got too much stuff going on to change my desktop again. Heck it has taken me 3 days just to get to where I can view this thread.

Well do you work for Stardock? hum...
